Graduate Opportunity in Venture Capital at Elkstone

Elkstone, Ireland’s leading Multi-Family Office, is hiring an Analyst to its Venture Capital investment team in Dublin starting in September 2020.

Our Venture business invests in early stage, digitally enabled companies across Europe and the USA. We have a sector-agnostic investment approach, with over 50 portfolio companies across verticals such as drone delivery, marketplaces, wearables, artificial intelligence, voice technology, digital health, ecommerce, enterprise software and SaaS. Notable recent investments include Manna, LetsGetChecked and The Meatless Farm Co. This year we will begin investing out of a new €50m seed fund and are looking to add an Analyst who is passionate about both entrepreneurship and technology.

About the Venture Analyst role:

The Venture Analyst will be part of a lean investment team and report directly to the Venture Partners. It is a dynamic position in a fast-paced environment with high levels of responsibility from day one. No two days are the same, but your duties will include:

  • Contributing to all aspects of deal flow from sourcing, screening and evaluating new investment opportunities to assisting with due diligence, deal execution and closing
  • Meeting and networking with entrepreneurs and fielding investment pitches from exciting technology startup founders
  • Performing market research to proactively identify new investment trends and opportunities
  • Speaking to industry experts and existing customers to understand target companies’ competitive landscape
  • Performing valuation analysis via modelling and analysing data to understand key metrics
  • Preparing internal investment memos for investment committee
  • Attending industry events to build your network in the startup ecosystem
  • Assisting our platform team in supporting our existing portfolio companies

What we are looking for:

  • A passion for technology trends and early stage startups, which can be demonstrated either through your own entrepreneurial endeavours, working at a startup, involvement with a society or attendance at industry events
  • A motivated and enthusiastic self-starter willing to learn quickly under the mentorship of experienced investors
  • Outstanding analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • A confident, high-energy candidate who is not afraid to defend their opinions and is capable of easily interacting with senior management and experienced entrepreneurs
  • A 2:1 or 1st from a leading university in either Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Law or the Sciences
